The Public Relations Officer for Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, has reinforced that there is no monthly salary for special constabularies in the state.
Mr Ajayi said this in a Theinfromant247 Tv live interactive program —The Discourse— on Tuesday, 21st of September, 2021.
It could be recalled that the Inspector General of Police speech during his one-day working visit to Kwara State Police command disclosed that community policing is not a paid job.
He said “There is no salary payment for special constabularies, it is a voluntary service. But other stipends and allowances are also paid to them when it comes in.
“Community constabularies are people who have time to spare to protect their communities, we take them in after their names have been submitted, give them some training so that they don’t look lost when handling matters in their community.”
Mr Ajayi further urged Kwarans to report any strange activities to the police without hesitation.
