Offa robbery suspects to die by hanging, Kwara court rules
No fewer than five suspected Offa banks robbers have been sentenced to death by hanging.
The Informant247 gathered that Justice Haleemah Salman of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin said the suspects were found involved in the deadly robbery attack in the ancient town of Offa, which occurred on April 5, 2018, where they unleashed multiple gun attacks in the bank’s area and killed Thirty-Nine persons including pregnant women and police officers.
Justice Salman, in her judgement, found the suspects guilty of illegal possession of firearms, armed robbery, and culpable homicide, adding that these offences are punishable by death and, therefore, sentenced them to death by hanging.
