The executive governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq who during the NYSC 2019 Batch B (stream 1) swearing in ceremony, at Yikpata, Kwara state rued the state of the facilities, especially the living conditions of the camp, describing the dilapidated camp as unhabitable.
The governor, however made a pledge to improve the standard of living at the camp.
In fulfilment of his promises he made at the NYSC orientation camp during his visit, governor Abdurrahman has ordered the deliveries of materials to further better the living standards of NYSC officials and corp members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Some of the supplies received by Nysc officials through the Kwara State NYSC Coordinator Mrs Esther Ikupolati are: 400 mattresses, 200 double bunks, 100 benches as well as medical supplies from Governor AbdulRazaq. This swift intervention has earned him a flurry of praises as the governor is known to matching his talks with actions.
The Kwara State NYSC Coordinator Mrs Esther Ikupolati confirmed the receipt of the materials and expressed her profound gratitude to the governor for following his word and with actions and finding them worthy of such benevolent favours.
She commended the exemplary model of governance of Mr. Abdurrahman as he is the first governor to have visited the NYSC camp in more than eight years as well as being the first to rescue the camp from its deplorable conditions in which state corp members at the camp have been wallowing over the years as a result of negligence.
