A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Saliu Mustapha has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to strengthen the security apparatus of Kwara State, especially offa community through provision of more armed personnel and Armoured Personnel Carriers.
Mustapha gave the appeal in a statement he personally issued to journalists in Ilorin to commiserate with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye ll, the entire people of Offa Community and the state government.
The APC Chieftain and Founder of Salihu Mustapha Foundation also urged both the Federal and State governments to increase security funding by providing necessary gadgets and sophisticated weapons for security personnel to enhance their work. “Our security agencies must do everything within their powers to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous acts and bring them to book, as such mindless violence does not belong in Kwara,” he said.
He further expressed his condolence to the families of victims of the unfortunate bank robbery that led to the deaths of more than 17 people which include security officials.
