Saliu Mustapha, the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate in the 2023 Kwara Central senatorial election, will be conferred another chieftaincy title in Obbo-Aiyegunle, a community in Kwara South senatorial district.
This is coming one year after he was made the Turaki of Ilorin.
Mustapha, will be honored with the chieftaincy title of Maiyegun of Obbo-Aiyegunle on Saturday.
In a copy of the notification release by the Owa L’Obbo of Obbo-Aiyegunle, Engr. (Dr.) Samuel Oluleye Adelodun in October, the chieftaincy title was to acknowledge Mustapha’s infraction, selfless service and contribution to the developments of the community.
“The Owa L’Obbo in Council and the entire Obbo Aiyegunle Community in recognition of your long standing friendly relationship with our community and her sons and daughters of our hereby wishes to inform you of the decision of the Kabiyesi HRM Owa L’Obbo of Obbo-Aiyegunle Engr. (Dr.) Samuel Oluleye Adelodun and the entire Obbo-Aiyegunle Community to honour you with chieftaincy title of “Maiyegun of Obbo-Aiyegunle” during the 4th Obbo- Aiyegunle Day Celebrations,” the letter obtained by our correspondent read.
It was revealed that the conferment of the new chieftaincy title will take place at the event scheduled to be held at St. Luke’s Primary School.
Mustapha has been known for his many years of contributions to human capital development in the state through his non profit making organisation, Saliu Mustapha Foundation.
The Foundation has championed many humanitarian programmes and empowerment interventions in the state.
Others who are to be conferred with traditional titles and recognitions are the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; an oil and gas magnate, Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of Kursi Investments Limited; Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki; among others.
