‘Obasanjo wants to destroy Nigeria with Peter Obi’s endorsement’ – Sowore
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticised former president, Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The Informant247 earlier reported that former president Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi ahead of the February 25, 2023 election.
The former Nigerian leader said Obi has an edge over and better than other presidential contestants.
Reacting, Sowore on Monday took to social media, Twitter, to describe the endorsement as a failure.
Sowore has described the endorsement as an attempt to destroy the country.
He said he would prefer the endorsement of the people to that of the former Nigerian president.
Sowore tweeted : “Obasanjo’s repeated endorsement of @Peter Obi shows once again that the overrated three-time Nigerian ruler fetishises the ruination of Nigeria.
“Failure endorsing Failure. For us, we crave and are satisfied with the endorsements of the people”
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Bola Tinubu has spoken on the manner former president, Olusegun Obasanjo endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi ahead of the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
The APC chieftain has described the endorsement of Obi by Obasanjo as ”worthless”.
Tinubu admitted that the former Nigerian leader has the democratic right to support or endorse any candidate of his choice.
The presidential candidate recalled how many of those endorsed by Obasanjo in the past lost elections.
He added that no politician will depend on Obasanjo’s endorsement to win election, not even in his home state, Ogun State.
The Presidential Campaign Council of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has dismissed the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The presidential campaign committee, has described the endorsement as Obasanjo’s personal opinion.
It said that majority of the people in Nigeria prefers Atiku.
