NYSC deploys 1,500 corps members to Gombe
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it has deployed 1,500 corps members to Gombe State for the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation programme.
Ms Margaret Dakama, the scheme’s Public Relations Officer said on Monday in Gombe the corps members were expected to report at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Amada Community between Feb. 23 and March 15.
She said, in a statement, that the registration of the corps members would begin on Feb 23.
The spokesperson urged the corps members to adhere strictly to all COVID-19 protocols before, during and after the orientation course.
Dakama said the scheme had put necessary measures at the camp in place to ensure their safety.
She added that there would be a compulsory COVID-19 test for all corps members and officials before being allowed into the orientation camp.
“All extant procedures for registration of prospective corps members with strict observance of physical distancing still stands.
“While we adjust to the new normal, COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Testing of participants before entry into camp is also still in place.
“No one will be allowed into the camp without passing through the COVID-19 screening and testing at the gate,” she said.
Dakama prayed for a hitch-free orientation course and urged stakeholders to cooperate with the scheme. (NAN)
