- NPFL Transfer: Kwara United Captain joins Akwa United
Christopher Nwaeze has teamed up with NPFL reigning champions, Akwa United ahead of the resumption of the league from the mid-season break, The Informant247 Nigeria News gathered.
According to ckdmedia.com, the former Nigeria U-20 Captain severed his contract with the Harmony boys.
Chris as he is fondly called recently fell out of favour in Kwara United and has since lost his place as an integral part of the team both as a ‘dependable’ defender and Captain.
The central defender joined the likes of Samson Gbadegbo, Dennis Nya to fight for the starting shirt in a team that will be wearing a new look and new philosophy under the new gaffer, Coach Deji Ayeni.
Recall that Akwa United few days ago unveiled Deji Ayeni as the new Technical Adviser of the club following the departure of Coach Kennedy Boboye in February.
Ayeni joined the ‘Promise keepers’ from Sunshine Stars FC, where he made a mark by helping the team escape relegation last season and also putting them on a strong feet in the league
