- NPFL: Offa-born Rafiu Ishaq Wins February’s LBA Player of the month
Ishaq Kayode Rafiu of Rivers United has been named February’s League Bloggers Association (LBA) Nigeria Professional Football League Player(NPFL) of the Month.
Ishaq Kayode was in stellar form for Rivers United throughout the month, scoring three goals in six NPFL outings, including a brace in 2-1 win over Dakkada FC.
The Informant247 Nigeria News gathered that the Offa-born striker who is also the current league top scorer with 11 goals saw off competition from Abdulaeez Yufus, Valentine Odoh and Ibrahim Yahaya to win the award.
Born in Offa, Kwara State,Ishaq has been described as the NPFL revelation owing to his current form and his impressive performance in the season under review.
River United are currently topping the NPFL log with 42 points from 19 points and will be looking forward to consolidate their performance in the second stanza of the league when it resumes on the 3rd of April.
