With Six more games to go in the current NPFL season, Kwara United face a huge test on their resolve to finish high on the log after losing to Shooting Stars on Sunday.
A last gasp winner from Joshua Akpan condemned the Harmony boys to another home defeat as the Oluyole warriors picked up the maximum points in Akure.
The Coach Kabiru Dogo boys were left in limbo as they played out all their efforts against the visitors but had no goal to show for it.
Shooting Stars had earlier grabbed a scoring oppurtuinity in the 90th minute through a penalty kick but Sikiru Alimi missed from the spot.
United’s joy was short-lived when Joshua Akpan punished the homeside by netting the winner in the additional minute of the game.
While the defeat left Kwara United to 8th position on the log with 12 points from 12 games, the victory on the other hand gave 16 points to 3SC to climb the 6th position on the Group A table.
For Kwara United, they have a huge mountain to climb in the face of their next games.
The team will face group leader and yet to be beaten Bendel Insurance away from home in their next game before hosting former Nigeria league champions Enyimba.
While they will be on the road to Uyo to face Akwa United in their week 15 fixture, the team will have a date with Plateau United, Nassarawa United and finish up the season with a clash against Remo Stars
