Nottingham Forest Coach Gives Update On Taiwo Awoniyi’s Injury
Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi will not be fit enough to play when Nottingham Forest welcome Luton Town to City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday.
It would be recalled that Awoniyi sustained an injury just before Forest’s Premier League against Crystal Palace two weeks ago and was ruled out of action for four weeks.
Speaking ahead of the Saturday clash, Nottingham Forest coach Steve Cooper said revealed that the Super Eagles Striker is yet to be back in action.
He’s progressing well; he’s not far off some training, to be honest. Let’s see how next week goes,” Steve said as per Nottingham post.
Awoniyi currently remains Nottingham Forest’s highest goalscorer in the Premier League this season with three goals. He has also provided two assists to help the team to 13th place on the league table.
The injury also forced him out of action in Super Eagles’ two friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique during the international break.
He will hope to get back to action soon as his country also prepares for AFCON in Côte D’ivoire
