‘No road, no election’, Bauchi communities threaten to boycott 2023 elections over bad roads
Some communities in Bauchi State have revealed that they will boycott the forthcoming 2023 elections.
The communities which are up to 30 have vowed to stay clear of the forthcoming elections as a result of bad roads.
The affected communities given as – Munsal Gwaskwaram, Kangere, and Yuguda – staged a peaceful demonstration chanting ‘No Road, No Election.’
Some leaders of the communities while addressing the press, said the peaceful demonstration came as a reaction to the failed promises of government functionaries, officials and their agents.
“Pregnant women are suffering, they sometimes die in the process after their nine-month pregnancy”, one of the protesters fumed.
The deputy speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Danlami Ahmed Kawule, who’s also standing for the constituency at the assembly said the government will work on the demands of the aggrieved communities.
