During the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, President Bola Tinubu expressed his dissatisfaction with unauthorized individuals gaining access to the council chamber, including his 37-year-old son, Seyi.
President Tinubu sternly addressed the issue, emphasizing that such breaches of security were unacceptable.
He specifically mentioned the approved individuals who were permitted to enter the chamber, such as Hadiza Usman, special adviser on policy coordination; Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy; Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary; and Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary.
President Tinubu highlighted the importance of maintaining the integrity of the FEC meetings, stressing the need for strict adherence to the established protocols.
The FEC, recognized under Section 144 (5) of the Constitution, serves as the body of Ministers of the Government of the Federation, established by the President and entrusted with the government’s functions. Chaired by the President and attended by the Vice President, the council also includes the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Head of Service of the Federation, ministers, and select top aides of the President.
It is crucial in the functioning of Nigeria’s executive branch, and the President’s directives underscored the significance of upholding its security and confidentiality standards.
