The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in a bid to institute high level accountability, profitability and effectiveness has on Sunday, July 4 announced new major appointments and reshuffling of top managerial positions in the corporation.
The Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD), Mr. Adokiye Tombomieye, has been appointed the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Upstream.
Also, the NNPC announced that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC), Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, has been appointed the new Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services, following the retirement of Mr. Farouk Sa’id, last week.
According the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Corporation, Dr. Kennie Obateru, she disclosed that the Chief Operating Officer, Upstream, Mr. Adeyemi Adetunji, has been moved to the Ventures and Business Development Directorate as COO, an office formerly held by Mr. Roland Ewubare.
He further maintained that the top-level staff movement also saw Mr. Billy Okoye, redeploy from the NNPC downstream company, NNPC Retail Limited, as Managing Director to replace Tombomieye as the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division.
In the same vein, Mrs. Elizabeth Aliyuda, the General Manager, Sales and Marketing, NNPC Retail Limited, takes over from Okoye as the Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited.
Also, Mr. Usman Farouk, Executive Director Asset Management and Technical Services at the NGMC, takes over from Ahmed as Managing Director.
The statement further said that President Buhari has okayed the resignation and retirement of Mr. Ewubare and Sa’ida both are former Chief Operating Officer, Ventures and New Business Directorate and Corporate Services of the national oil company, respectively.
Speaking on the development, the Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Mr Mele Kyari, said the new appointments would enable the corporation reach an enviable height.
He explained that it will also accelerate the ongoing restructuring in the corporation.
