NNL: ABS beat visiting FWC Champions 1-0 in Ilorin
Isaac Ogiri’s 7th minute header was all Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC needed on Saturday to beat visiting FWC Champions FC of Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match Day 5, 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
NAN reports that both teams paraded young players in the match where Ogiri’s rose highest to nod John Dogo’s cross past the visitors’ goalkeeper, Aweta Surujen, for the home team’s lone goal.
Samuel Bamigboye would have doubled the lead in the 16th minute but he headed wide when Abdullahi Ojifini expected that he allowed him to attack the ball instead.
The visitors pressurised their hosts for most part of the second half winning the battles in most occasions.
The introduction of Blessed Abba and Michael Olorunfemi added bite to ABS Ilorin FC up front, but they wasted their chances.
The Ilorin based NNL side are expected to travel to Abuja for match day against City FC of Abuja on Saturday. (NAN)
