NIN verification to cost N1,000 from April 1, 2023 – NIMC

Nigerians are to pay N1,000 for the integration and verification of National National Identity Numbers (NIN) as from April 1, 2023.

The agreement was reached by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

This was done to ensure the improvement of standard, speed and accuracy of passport services via prompt NIN verification.

The head of corporate communications, Kayode Adegoke, made this revelation in a statement released on Monday, March 13.

Kayode Adegoke said the new arrangement would bring development to the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy’s as regards the order of the Commission to streamline the passport application, renewal and issuance processes.

As a result of this change, each application for a Nigerian passport would be subject to a NIN Verification fee.

Hence, the commission announced that Nigerians must pay a charge of N1,000 for NIN integration and verification starting from April.
