Nigeria’s Super Eagles moves up in the new FIFA rankings

The Nigeria Super Eagles has leaped up in the new FIFA rankings of the month of January released on Thursday.
Now 32nd in the world, the three times African Champions has also surprisingly leaped up from 5th position in Africa to 3rd on the log.
Nigeria is now ranked third behind Morroco and the AFCON winner Senegal who are occupying second and first positions respectively.
Before the AFCON, Nigeria was ranked 36th in the World and 5th in Africa- And despite their early exit at the round of 16, the team has now achieved one of the best of rankings in the recent time on the heels of their performance at the just concluded Africa Mundial.
Nigeria plays Ghana in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers in March. The first leg of the game is billed for Ghana on the 24th of March while the reverse fixture holds in Nigeria on the 29th of the same month.
