The famous Nigerian skitmaker, Debo Adedayo, popularly addressed as Mr Macaroni, has criticised the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, following the emergence of a video showing a police officer assaulting a man.
Report has it that the man was going to church when the officer beat him in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
While reacting to the incident, the activist, Debo wrote on Twitter: “The Nigerian Police Force should change their name to Nigerian Oppression Force. They don’t know more than harassing, extorting and brutalizing citizens. Shame!!!”
Police kill 2 bandits in Zamfara community
The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two bandits by its tactical team in a community in Tsafe Local Government Area.
The spokesperson of the state police Command, CSP Muhammad Shehu in a statement released on Monday April 10 confirmed the development.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kolo Yusuf hailed police officers for their resilience.
He said the operatives of the police are dedicated to stop the criminal operations across the state.
“The bandits, who attempted attack on the community were repelled, leaving two of the suspected bandits neutralised, while others fled with possible gunshot wounds.
“The commissioner of police, also appreciate the joint efforts of the police and military operations in the state, to curtail the menace of armed banditry and other criminal elements,” he added.
The spokesperson implored members of the public to continue to lend support to the security agencies as they are making efforts to restore normalcy and order in the state.
