IGP presents award to Kano DPO for rejecting $200,000 bribe
The Inspector General of Police IGP, Usman Alkali Baba has presented a certificate of Award to Nassarawa, Divisional Police Officer, SP Daniel Itse Amah for rejecting the sum of Two Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (USD 200,000) offered him as a bribe in a case of alleged armed robbery.
In a letter containing the commendation, SP Daniel was hailed for exhibiting sound professionalism leading to the arrest of Ali Zaki, a Kano-based legal practitioner and some Police officers.
Kidnapper writes Oyo private varsity, bank, threatens abduction
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, who wrote a letter to a private university in Oyo town and told the management of his plan to abduct three students of the institution.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Williams, while parading the suspected kidnappers and other suspects on Monday, noted that the suspects were arrested at different times by men of the command.
The CP said the suspected kidnapper asked the university to pay N10 million to stop him from striking. He was also said to have written a bank in the town to notify the management of his intention to attack the place.
PDP should give Gov Wike National Chairman position to solve crisis — PDP chieftain

Nigerian gov orders free treatment for bandit attack victims
Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, ordered free treatment for victims of a terrorist attack in the state on Friday.
The Governor, through his deputy, Haruna Manu, on Monday ordered free treatment for the victims.
He made this revelation during his visit to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, the state capital, where the victims are currently receiving medical care.
Ondo tops list as Nigeria records 13 new cases of Lassa fever in one Week
The latest epidemiological report by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says the country has recorded 13 new cases of Lassa fever from five states within one week.
The states are Ondo, Edo, Kogi, Ebonyi and Imo.
According to the report, “In week 31 (August 1 to 7), the number of new confirmed cases increased from 10 in week 30, 2022 to 13 cases. These were reported from Ondo, Edo, Kogi, Ebonyi and Imo States.
