C’River Gov directs recruitment into state civil service The Informant247

Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade on Wednesday locked out senior and junior workers in the Governor’s Office over lateness to workplace.

Ayade, who returned to Calabar, the state capital on Monday after a long absence, arrived work earlier and directed the security to close the main gate at about 8 am.

The Informant247 learnt that the irregularity of the governor in the office, made it a habit for most civil servants, particularly those working in the governor’s office to sneak in at about 11 am and leave work before 3 pm.

As of noon, the gate was still closed while visitors and personnel milled around the surroundings.

No government official had spoken to the personnel, visitors, and government contractors at the time of producing this report.

The Informant247 recalls that this would be the third time the governor would lock out government workers since he came on board.

The number one citizen of the state has often revealed that he does not have the heart to dismiss workers or reprimand them even when they commit grave offences.
