The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has revealed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), should have consulted Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, before choosing his running mate.
The Informant247 had reported that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has chosen the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
Ortom, while addressing his party issues on a television session on Thursday night, confessed that 14 out of 17 members of a committee set up by the party to guide Atiku on his choice of running mate had preferred Wike.
“The candidate who won the primary has the final say, I have no problem with that.
“But I think that moving forward Wike would have been reached out to. Even some of us who were supporting Wike, we would have been told,” he said.
The Benue State Governor however insisted that he was still consulting with God on who to support in the coming 2023 presidential election.
