In a bid to boost the fight against the plethora of security challenges being faced by the country,the Nigerian Army has recruited a new set of 6,315 soldiers in to the force.
The recruits were the 85th regular intake from
Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria in Kaduna State.
Speaking at the passing-out parade on Saturday, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, stated that the new officers will complement the manpower needs of the Nigerian military with competent and combatant-ready young soldiers.
The Army chief therefore who urged them to uphold the values of loyalty, discipline, and selfless service, reminded the new recruits of the task ahead of them especially as Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges.
He also assured Nigerians that the military will not rest in its constitutional duties of keeping the country safe,.
The COAS said the force is committed to ensure the country is safe from the threats of terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the country.
The highlight of the parade is the presentation of banners to the champion battalion and awards to deserving recruits.
While the passing-out parade from the Nigerian Army Depot marks the beginning of the military career of the new officers, the over six thousands new recruits breath some fresh air of optimism into the minds of Nigerians who are keen to see their country safe from both internal and external security threats
