Nigeria to face Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania in Group C as 2025 AFCON starts in December

In preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the tournament scheduled to take off between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The three-time African champions will be eyeing a return to glory in Morocco, aiming to clinch their fourth AFCON title after narrowly losing the last final to Côte d’Ivoire.

The draw, held on Monday in Rabat, also saw the host nation Morocco placed in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros, while holders Cote d’Ivoire are in Group F along with Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique.

Following the 2025 AFCON draw on Monday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles are up against a diverse mix of opponents in Group C.

Tunisia, a perennial contender, will test Nigeria’s mettle, while Uganda and Tanzania bring energy and unpredictability to the group.

The 2025 AFCON will kick off on December 21, 2025, with group stage matches running until December 31, excluding Christmas Day, while the final is scheduled for January 18, 2026.
