Nigeria premier league clubs to receive N10 million take-off grant on Thursday

Plans have been concluded by Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Interim Management Committee (IMC) will hold a public presentation of take-off grants to the 20 NPFL Clubs on Thursday in Abuja.

Recall that the IMC Chairman, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye has earlier disclosed the plan of the committee to dole out the money to the clubs ahead of the league commencement.

The ceremony, which is scheduled for 2 pm at the Sandralia Hotel in Abuja will be witnessed by top football stakeholders in the country.

“The presentation ceremony will have in attendance, the NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau who wants to address all stakeholders ahead of the start of the season to assure them that the Football House will support every move to upgrade our league in terms of transparency, level playing ground and improved performance”, said IMC Chairman

“It is also a platform for the IMC to make a public presentation of the takeoff grant to our participating clubs to put them on a good pedestal to start the season”, he added.

The matchday 1 fixtures of the NPFL 2022/23 season holds on Sunday, January 8 in Groups A and B of the abridged-league format.

IMC had noted that the need for the abridged league which saw the 20 teams being divided into two groups is aimed at concluding the season in May 2023 in order to align with the international calendar.

The Akwa United versus Bendel Insurance fixture in Uyo will be the flagship centre.
