Steven Gerrard has offered free agent Jesse Lingard has a one-month trial at Al-Ettifaq.
30-year-old Lingard is expected to train with the squad in an effort to seal a permanent switch to the Saudi Pro League outfit.
Gerrard has recruited Jordan Henderson and Demarai Gray from the Premier League since his appointment in July.
The former Manchester United forward spent a large part of the summer training with the Westham and even featured in pre-season matches.
However, a deal between him and the club never came through with football Insider reporting that Hammers boss, David Moyes and his coaching staff deemed Lingard’s fitness to be short of Premier League standard.
West Ham United are reoortedly counting the cost of Jesse Lingard’s unsuccessful trial period after having yet another not to impressive stint at Nottingham Forest.
Lingard also had travel expenses, having been banned for driving for six months.
He was reportedly pulled over for a speeding violation and gave the police a fake name to avoid a penalty.
