The duo of Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala were crowned the King and Queen of football at the 2022 Nigeria Pitch Award nite which held on Tuesday night in Abuja.
The Nigeria internationals were rewarded for their impressive performances in the year under review.
Oshoala, who has scored 19 goals in 16 league matches for Barcelona Femeni in the Primera Division edge out Gift Monday and Uchenna Kalu to win the coveted award.
recalls that four-time African best female footballer of the year claimed her third consecutive league title in the Spanish top-flight recently.
For Osimhen, the 23-year-old Napoli Striker has scored 11 goals in 20 league matches so far this season.
Osimhen who also won the Serie A Player of the month of March award was the Super Eagles’ top scorer in their unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign with four goals.
Goal.com reports that while Osimhen was honoured with the Striker of the Year award, Wilfred Ndidi, William Troost-Ekong, and Maduka Okoye also clinched the Midfielder, Defender, and Goalkeeper prizes respectively in the award ceremony.
