The Nigerian Government, during a Federal Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, has ratified a sum N8.5bn for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The money, is set aside for the procurement of 12 items in multiple folds for the testing of COVID-19 in the country.
The approval, which was sanctioned during a deliberation presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari was aimed at fast tracking the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic owing to the fact that the nation’s economy has taken a pounding from the deadly virus has been posing a global challenge.
The approval was premised on a memorandum presented to the council by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire.
