NBS: Nigeria’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.1% in first quarter of 2023

Nigeria’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023, from 5.3 percent recorded in the previous quarter, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The Informant247 gathered that the bureau had, in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020, pegged the country’s unemployment rate at 33.3 percent.

According to a statement released by NBS on Thursday, the latest unemployment report adopted a new methodology and presented an in-depth analysis of the labour market.
