Napoli continued their unbeaten run in the Serie A as they defeated Empoli 2-0 in their match day 14.

The league leaders had no goal to show for their efforts in the first half as both teams went in to the break in goalless draw.

For Napoli, the breakthrough came when
Razvan Marin from Empoli conceded a penalty for tripping Victor Osimhen in the box, with Hirving Lozano after VAR check by the Referee turning it in to the net to open the scoreline.

Empoli were reduced to 10-man when Sebastiano Lupert got a red card in the 74th minutes after tripping Hirving Lozano.

In the 88th minutes, Piotr Zielinski smashed home a cross from Hirving Lozano to make it two for the Partenopei and secure a 10 league game straight victories.

That AC Milan were held to a 0-0 draw by Cremonese, Napoli have now gone eight points clear their closest rival on the table, thus a huge boost towards their desire to pick up the title.

AC Milan with 30 points are temporarily second on the league barring the results from the Atalanta and Lazio’s respective matches on Wednesday and Thursday.

Both Lazio and Atalanta have 27 points and are third and fourth respectively on the log.

Napoli will face Udinese in their next game on Saturday
