NANS holds leadership summit to commemorate Saraki 60th Birthday

The National association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday held leadership summit to commemorate the 60th birthday of Senator Bukola Saraki.

The Summit themed: Why student must vote aggressively in 2023 election, was aimed at enlightening students to take active part in the forthcoming general elections and not to be deceived to selling their votes with token.

The summit held at Mariam event hall, offa-Garage Ilorin also included fund raising towards the NANS endorsement fund project and presentation of certificate of credence to some PDP stalwart.

The Chairman of the occassion and the Director General of the PDP campaign council, Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmad while giving his opening remark, described Dr. Bukola Saraki as a friend of the youth who has interest in their upswing in politics.

He also indulged youths to vote for their preferred candidate.

“We are in democracy and democracy is your vote that countes, go and vote for your preferred candidate as a young man otherwise, the older generation will use your time as part of their own years,” he said

Babatunde Muhammed, the Kwara State PDP chairman, for his part said the sitting Governor does not have capable and competent subordinates.

“Once you’re very honest and focused, this is your own time, if anybody tells you to wait for your time, don’t listen to them, this is your time, they have nothing tangible to offer.

“They have no better advice to give because they don’t have the experience, one of our major problem in Kwara state is that the Governor surrounded himself with people that lack ideology and the only party that can solve our problem in Nigeria today is PDP,” he said.
