NANS GIVE 48 HOURS ULTIMATUM TO PRESIDENT BUHARI TO APOLOGISE TO NIGERIAN YOUTH OVER HIS STATEMENT AT COMMONWEALTH HEAD OF GOVERNMENT MEETING

It becomes highly regrettable lugubrious to have found ourselves in what we see as the most demeaning and demarketing situation, in which Nigerian Youths are subjected to by our President.
Such international meeting where Nigeria can grab opportunity to call on foreign investors by making them to know that Nigeria has the workforce and enabling environment with the capacity of youths and quality education, reverse is the case for President Muhammadu Buhari to demeaning youths by saying “MOST” to us as a scholar…..MOST means MAJORITY.

“Nigerian Youths are such a nice set of people because there is no place in the world where the president will use such word against the youths and the nation will still stand”. The statement alone is capable enough to incite revolution. As such, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS hereby demand an unreserve apology from Mr President within 48hrs. Failure to do so, NANS will take to the street of Federal Capital Territory(Abuja) to show their grievance.

A Nation like Nigeria that has the most industrious, hardworking youths in the world, where youths strive through the most difficult tasks to afford their daily bread. It is only in Nigeria that you will find a first class graduate riding motorcycle (Okada), Trycycle (Keke Napep), Hawking various items on the streets and doing various menial jobs with very low pay just to survive.

The leadership of Nigerian Students was thrown into the biggest shock when we got this demoralizing message about the Presidents remark on Nigerian Youths on Thursday has shown that Nigeria leaders has failed us by failing to provide enabling environment for Nigerian youths to show case their talent.
It is on record that Millions of Nigeria graduates from school every year and the government has not provide job opportunity or provide enabling environment for youths to involve in entrepreneurs, lot of businesses are struggling to survival because of lack of electricity and some government obnoxious policy.
7.3% Education budget for 2018 is nothing to write home about compare to UNESCO RECOMMENDATION ON EDUCATION, despite this we don’t demand for free education, we still pay the exorbitant school fees, NHIS and school hostels accommodation which the services are the worst all over the world.

“We don’t need a century to effect a change, all we need is effective preparation to provoke unusual transformation” in leu of this Nigerian Students demand for apology from Our President and call on Nigeria government to provide enabling environment for youth to grow.
