NAFDAC seals off warehouse containing expired agrochemicals in Benue
Operatives of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have uncovered and sealed a warehouse containing expired agrochemicals in Gboko, Benue state.
According to the agency via its verified X account, Purity Agro Chemical Center contained 724 cartons of expired Patriarch agrochemicals, illegally revalidated with new shelf lives for distribution, along with various unregistered products such as Kris herbicide, E-Tong Reapon 800WG, Onion Texas, Tomato Chiloli, and Hot Pepper.
“NAFDAC operatives have seized the expired and unregistered agrochemicals, and the facility has been secured. The company’s owner is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to ensure his arrest.”
NAFDAC, however, urged consumers to stay alert and report any suspicious products or activities to the nearest office to help safeguard public safety.
