• says group allegations false, misleading and untrue
All Progressives Congress (APC), Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on member representing Omupo constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulganiyu Salaudeen, over his performance in office.
This is coming after some group under the aegis of Concerned APC Youth Stakeholders in the local government raised an allegation against the lawmaker due to what it called “Non-performance” and to be recalled for same.
But the lawmaker has denied the allegations in a formal report published by THE INFORMANT247, saying it’s political and individuals spreading such evil campaign against his person are mischief makers.
The APC chairman in the Ifelodun local government area, Alhaji Abdulateef Kadir, speaking with journalists said that the lawmaker has contributed to development of each of the eight wards in his constituency since assumption of office two years ago.
He said: “It could recalled that some APC youth stakeholders in the local government recently moved for recall of the legislator, citing alleged non-performance.
However, the party chairman said that, “within two years in office, AGF Salaudeen has even performed wonderfully well more than some who have represented the constituency in the past”.
Alhaji Kadir, who also described the recent media embarrassment of the lawmaker as unwarranted, and therefore urged constituents not to allow themselves to be used to harass or intimidate the lawmaker.
Also speaking, the lawmaker dispelled rumours and propaganda against him, saying that, “posterity will judge all of us.
“It was alleged that I am the one hoarding membership registration documents. This is laughable because I am member of the state House of Assembly representing the good people of Omupo constituency. I am neither a member of the party’s Caretaker Committee in the state nor in the local government. Why would I be the one holding party registration documents?”.
The lawmaker, Salaudeen also said that his investment in this year’s state budget has led to inclusion of some projects for his constituency in the budget, adding that, “by the time the state government rolls out the implementation of the budget, our constituency will not be left out”.
“The constituency is equally included in various governmental activities such as RAMP, School feeding, Health Insurance Scheme, Owo Arugbo, Owo Isowo etc. Conclusively, my activities since assumption of office in 2019 is unprecedented to the people of my constituency. It is only selfish individuals that will deny this fact”.
“I will, however, advise these individuals to put their malicious act aside and let’s join hands to make our constituency, which had been grossly short-changed in the past, move forward”, he said.
