President Bola Tinubu Submits N2.1 Trillion Supplementary Budget for 2023
President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a draft of the 2023 supplementary budget amounting to N2.1 trillion to the National Assembly for their approval.
This notification was conveyed in a letter from the President and was presented during the Senate’s session by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had previously given its nod to the N2.1 trillion 2023 supplementary budget, pending the National Assembly’s approval.
In the letter, President Tinubu clarified that the supplementary budget is intended to cover various crucial expenses, including road construction, providing conditional cash transfers to impoverished and vulnerable households, and ensuring national security.
The President urged the Senate members to promptly review and approve the 2023 supplementary budget.
Consequently, Senate President Akpabio referred the President’s request to the Senate Committee on Appropriation for swift consideration.
