Rear Admiral Abdulrasheed Haruna, the former Commander of the naval ship, NNS BEECROFT, has revealed that his team successfully intercepted contraband worth approximately N1 billion, suspected to be Indian hemp, from smugglers operating on the Western waters.
In addition to the drugs, Admiral Haruna reported the seizure of bags of rice and petrol, along with the impounding of multiple wooden boats that were utilized for transporting the illicit goods.
The disclosure was made by Admiral Haruna during a farewell parade held in his honor in Lagos, marking the conclusion of his tenure as the 55th commander of the esteemed NNS BEECROFT.
