My dad bribed me to go back to university — Davido

The famous Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has revealed how his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke bribed him to go back to school. 

The music superstar said he would have abandoned the thought of having a university education if the famous businessman had not bribed him to go back to the university.

He said he had begun his music career before he accepted to proceed to the university.

He said he had to abandon his music career until he concluded his education in the university where he finished with second-class grade.

He said the famous billionaire, Dr. Adeleke promised to build him a modern studio and give him money to shoot music videos on weekends, if he agreed to attend lectures from Mondays to Fridays.

He said, “He [my dad] said if I go to school, he has a piece of land not far; he will build me a studio. But I should go to school from Mondays to Fridays and on weekends, work in the studio. It was a world-class studio. He will give me money to shoot some videos.”

Why there’s no ‘sad songs’ in my recent album, Timeless – Davido

In another news, the popular singer explained why he did not include ”sad songs” in the recently released music album ”Timeless” as expected by many people.

He said he used to being happy and that he decided to maintain the happy vibe, regardless of what he passed through.

He said: “As a musician, I wanted to deliver a classic album with no much emotions. If you listen to Davido music over the years, from time, I have always been a happy person even when I am going through something or I am not.

“So that side of my life, if I want to talk about it, there’s time for that but on this album, that was not what I was going for.”

I invested almost N1 bn on my last album — Davido

Davido has disclosed the sum of money he invested on his third studio album ‘A Better Time’.

The talented musician said he invested almost $2 million (almost one billion naira) on the music album.

He made this revelation during the media tour for his most recent musical album ‘Timeless’ in the United States, US.

He said the money was spent on videos, promotions and features.

He said, “My last album, I will tell you, I probably spent $2 million. That is for everything. You know what I’m saying?

“I haven’t even spent $300k on this album [Timeless]. And I made more already in three days. It just shows me the level of where African music is going.”
