In line with his recent promise to discover and nurture talents in Kwara State, the Chief Executive Officer of Almaroof Standard Investment, Oloba Maroof Adebayo Afolayan, has commenced a talent hunt project in the state.

The ace movie marketer who doubles as the Oloba of Isale-Oba, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, while speaking with journalists, said the development is part of his commitment to contribute to the development of the entertainment sector in Kwara State.

“What we plan to do in Kwara is to showcase the business of entertainment, to let our people know how lucrative it is and by the time the success becomes visible to all, I fervently believe many people will join us.

“With the Film Village the government is building particularly in Malete, though not yet completed, Kwara will soon become one of the best movie hubs in the world,” Oloba divulged.

The traditional ruler, who ascended the throne of his forebears four years ago, has however signed one MC Shood (real name Moshood Folorunsho), a vastly talented artiste, who is also the grandson of Sheikh Folorunsho Fagba, a renowned Islamic cleric in Ilorin.

MC Shood, a hip pop singer, rapper and writer was signed under the record label of Almaroof Media Network, a subsidiary of Almaroof Standard Investment.

According to the ace marketer turned promoter, MC Shood, is presently working on an album with interesting tracks that are capable of shooting him into public eye.

Speaking further, Oloba said talents abound in Kwara State but there is scarcity of funds and dearth of promoters to bring them to limelight.

He added that his mission is to lead many Kwara-born artistes to stardom and also bond them with celebrities in the entertainment industry in the country.

He said, “in Kwara State, we’ve not been doing enough to promote the entertainment industry, I can see lots of talents, potentials and opportunities yet untapped in our beloved state. With the help of God and support from stakeholders, I intend to correct that norm and I’m starting with MC Shood.

On his part, the new artist appreciated his promoter for his kind gesture and for reviving the state entertainment industry.

“Almaroof is my God’s saving Grace, he discovered me at the right time because I was already losing hope in myself after several effort to make headways in music. My family never said I shouldn’t do music but, they won’t give me money for it except for education.

“Music is in me, I sing, rap, write and also do lot of things in music,” he expressed.
