Motor accident kills 22 persons in Benin Republic
A road accident has killed twenty-two persons in Benin Republic, West Africa.
A bus and a truck collided in the centre of the country, leading to the death of 22 persons.
The road crash was confirmed on Monday, January 30, 2023 by the government.
The government established that the motor crash happened on Sunday, close to Dassa-Zoume, “causing at least 22 deaths and many injured,” who were hospitalized to several clinics for medical attention.
The Baobab Express transport organization revealed that the bus was moving about 40 passengers from Parakou to the economic capital Cotonou in the south.
The government added that many of the passengers lost their lives after the accident.
The transport firm announced the commencement into the crash and the cancellation of all its bus services.
