Members of communities in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, last Saturday, staged a peaceful protest over plan my staff of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to remove them from newly built Zango injection substation of communities electricity supply.
An eye witness said that the communities which include Mustapha Akanbi, Bolakale, Baba soldier, Tinu, Harmony, Idigba were, Ontiku, Akanlabi, Awodi, Balogun Gambari, Kankantu and Sanda had resolved to disallow IBEDC from unjustly removing them from the substation.
According to the spokesperson of the communities, Mr Babatunde Abdulkadir Are, “we have resolved that we want to know the area of coverage of the facility. Otherwise, IBEDC should leave the facility the way it is until a reasonable answer is provided.”
