Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred, Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR), the highest honour in Nigeria, while Vice President-elect Kashim Settima was conferred Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
The honours were conferred on both president and vice-president-elect on Thursday, during an investiture ceremony held in Aso Villa Abuja.
Tinubu will be sworn in as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Monday, May 29, 2023, to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, after spending 8 years as the President.
