Masquerades invade church, disrupt Sunday service in Plateau
There’s tension in Shikal village of Lantang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, as some masquerades invaded a church (name withheld) on Sunday beat worshippers and the pastor.
The masquerades were also reported to have destroyed the musical equipment of the Church and scattered the Sunday service.
A source told newsmen that the masquerades invaded the religious house while during the Sunday service of the worshippers.
He revealed that the action of the masquerades came as a shock and surprise to the church members.
He added that the members did not take any retaliatory action against the masquerades, but came together to protect their properties from the invaders.
The source said, “Elders of the village are making efforts to get to the root of the matter in order to restore normalcy.”
