Many injured as Police launch investigations into Katsina gas explosion

A gas explosion has left several people injured while causing significant damage to vehicles and houses in Magama Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to reports, the blast occurred on Friday at a filling station where the truck, loaded with gas cylinders, had been parked for days.

A local resident, Aliyu Muhammad, who witnessed the scene, said the explosion damaged two houses and destroyed seven vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Katsina Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, while confirming the incident, disclosed that police and military teams quickly responded to control the blaze and prevent further casualties, adding that six vehicles were severely affected, but no lives were lost.

However, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has ordered a full investigation into the cause of the explosion, with updates to follow as the probe progresses.
