Man to die by hanging for killing 4 vigilantes in Kwara

Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court has convicted one Quareem Ibrahim of the offence of culpable homicide and sentenced him to death by hanging.

The judge, in the verdict handed down, also slammed Ibrahim ten years imprisonment for being in possession of firearms and belonging to gang of thieves.

It would be recalled that the case started in 2018 with Ibrahim and nineteen others who were arrested and accused of killing four vigilantes in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

In the course of their trials, the Prosecution called eight witnesses who gave evidences concerning the defendants.

The court, in its verdict, found nineteen of them innocent of the offences and discharged them unacquainted.

Ibrahim, was however, found guilty and sentenced accordingly.

Barr AbdulRahman Salaudeen, Assistant Chief legal aid officer while speaking with TheInformant247 correspondent, emphasis that the convict was found guilty of capital offenses, such as armed robbery, Culpable-homiscide, kidnapping, which lead to his judgement of death by hanging, while 10 years imprisonment is his punishment for being in possession of illegal fire arms, belonging to gang of brigands.

MK AbdulQuadri esq, described the trial has a well researched and well delivered judgement. He also applauded the Justice who determined the judgement.
