Man remanded for allegedly stealing soft, alcoholic drinks in Lagos

A 27-year-old man, Sunday Okewuade, has been remanded on the order of a court, for allegedly stealing soft and alcoholic drinks worth N120,000 and N80,000.

He was ordered to be remanded by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, Lagos State, on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man, has pleaded guilty to the charge.

Okewuade, whose address of residence was not disclosed, admitted that he broke into another person’s apartment, and stole items.

Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, the Chief Magistrate, has adjourned the matter until November 15  for evaluation of facts and sentencing.

ASP Clement Okuoimose, who’s the Prosecution Counsel, earlier informed the court that the defendant carried out the offence at about midnight of October 14, at Efura Junction, Oko-Afo, along Badagry.

The prosecution counsel said that the defendant illegally entered the shop of the complainant, Ms Bose Buhari, with the aim of committing felony.

He further revealed that the offence was in contravention of the provisions of sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.
