Man kills self over N200,000 debt in Ganmo

A thrift collector, Habibullahi Aminullahi, on Monday, committed suicide in Ganmo, Kwara state over unpaid N200,000 debt.

THE INFORMANT247 gathered that the deceased hung himself in his shop at Ajase-Ipo Road, Ganmo.

Aminullahi’s lifeless body was reportedly found by his younger brother in the shop.

According to a close source, who pleaded anonymity, the deceased had, on October 4, summoned a meeting with his friends to complain over N200,000 debt on him.

The source added that the friends advised the man to be calm as his situation would soon improve.

According to the source, Aminullahi, who is also a grinding machine operator, refused to heed the advice and went ahead to hang himself.

When contacted by newsmen, the Kwara Police spokesperson, SP. Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the development, adding that the deceased did not leave a suicide note.
