Phil Foden will miss Manchester City’s Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday after undergoing surgery for acute appendicitis.
The 22-year-old left the England squad ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2024 Qualifier with Ukraine.
City had confirmed that “it is unclear at this stage how long he will be unavailable for.”

According to the NHS, people who have had their appendix removed resume normal activity within two to four weeks. Whether professional football falls under that remains to be seen.
Foden has featured 36 times for City in all competitions this season, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists.
