Man bags 7 years’ imprisonment for cutting off mother, children’s hand in Kwara

An Ilorin High Court has sentenced a middle-aged man, Azeez Lukman, to seven years imprisonment for cutting off a woman Muyibat Afolayan’s hand and that of her two children.
The incident happened in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government of the state, when an argument ensued between the convict (Lukman) and Muyibat’s son, Habeeb Afolayan over a roasting goat which was knocked down by a reckless driver.
Lukman, who grew annoyed following the argument, macheted Habeeb on his forehead.
Lukman’s mother (Habitat) with his brother Saheed Afolayan who rushed out to inquire what happened were also macheted with their hands, fingers cut off.
Our correspondent reported that the trial judge, Justice Yusuf Adebayo, found Lukman guilty of two out of three-count charges leveled against him and he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment which is to run concurrently.
