LP dissolves Rivers exco over alleged corruption, ‘anti-party activities’

The Labour Party has dissolved the leadership of the party in Rivers State over alleged corruption in the management of the funds of the party and anti-party activities.

The spokesperson of the party’s campaign, Kenneth Okonkwo, made this revelation in a statement released on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

He revealed that the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure, has dissolved the state’s leadership with immediate effect.

The Informant247 earlier reported that the Labour Party, LP in Rivers State have endorsed the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sim Fubara, ahead of the March 11 governorship election.

The Chairman of the Labour Party in the state, Dienye Pepple said this was done to enable fairness, balance and equity in the state.

The Chairman led stakeholders of the party to Port Harcourt, the capital of the state, to explain that Fubara’s Southeast Senatorial District has not produced a Governor in the state.

He said all members of the Labour Party and supporters of the presidential candidate of the party otherwise known as Obi-dient Movement had made up their minds to vote for Fubara in order to enable progress and development of the state.
