The Kwara State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development has set up plans to hold a town hall meeting on Friday.
According to a statement obtained by THE INFORMANT247, The ministry will hold its first town hall meeting with all local government staffers in Kwara state starting with Patigi Local Government on Friday 20th December 2019 at Kwara state banquet hall by 3:00 pm.
Speaking to journalist in Ilorin, the Kwara state Capital, on Tuesday morning, The commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Aishat Pategi reiterated her commitment toward turning the ministry around and taking it to greater heights.
She maintained that the ministry needs a total overhaul with lot of training and retraining for her staffers as the ministry has direct impacts on the masses, who constitute the larger percentage of our populace.
Pategi said, ”This ministry, under my leadership, will seek to partner with lots of other ministries in and outside Kwara state and various international and local NGOs so we can bring about genuine urbanization of our rural areas.
“The town hall meeting with all staff of local government in Kwara state will give me the opportunity to have firsthand information on the various problems bedeviling the ministry in the past.”
