LG elections to be conducted manually, not electronically: KWSIEC chair
The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has disclosed that the 2024 local government elections in Kwara will be conducted manually, not electronically.
Baba Okanla, the Chairman of the electoral body, made this disclosure during a one-day pre-election stakeholders’ forum on Tuesday in Ilorin, the state capital.
The electoral body had earlier announced that the elections will be held across the 16 local government areas of the state on September 21, 2024.
“Arrangements are being put in place to make this happen within the set date. We will give a further breakdown on the election Time Table of activities soon, all things being equal.
“We urge all stakeholders to follow our public communications, updates, and get ready for the elections within the given timeframe,” they said in a statement in May.
